Two tan and white dogs sitting on a sidewalk, looking up at the camera. One has curly fur with white chest and the other has longer, straighter fur. They are on black leashes and there is grass and a garden bed in the background.

Hi, I’m Sean owner of Sean Dogs’ and lifelong animal lover. I grew up here in Poway and, after a full career with the California Department of Corrections in Northern California, I returned to my hometown to settle into a life rooted in community, family, and my passion for animal care.

Animals have been a constant in my life from the very beginning. I’ve had dogs and cats for as long as I can remember, and for several years I bred and trained English Pointers for upland game birds, an experience that inspired the logo for Sean Dogs’. Over the years, I’ve also raised just about everything: pigs, sheep, rabbits, chickens, cows, and horses. That variety of hands-on experience shaped my understanding of animals and deepened the respect I have for them.

I’ve always believed that every animal deserves love, affection, and respect and when you give them that, they return it in their own special way. That’s why my home was always the safe spot for animals in need. My oldest daughter used to bring home stray after stray (more than I could ever count), knowing I’d never turn away an animal that needed help. Together, we’d care for them, get them healthy, and find them the right home.

Those experiences, combined with decades of caring for so many different species, give me the confidence to say: your best friend is in the right hands with me. Whether it’s boarding, daycare, drop-ins, or a simple walk, I treat every dog as if they were my own.
